Keene High School Scholarship Newsletter

The following scholarships are listed by the month in which the applications are due.  Please note that this newsletter will be updated every month and scholarship opportunities for upcoming months will be added.  Scholarship applications are available in the Green House Office and/or online.  Please see your school counselor for more information.


Horatio Alger Scholarship

Awarded to a high school senior who is intending to pursue a bachelor’s degree

Applicants must demonstrate significant financial need, commitment to co-curricular and community service and minimum GPA of 2.0

Coca-Cola Scholars

Awards are based on character, personal merit and commitment. Merit is demonstrated through leadership in school, civic and extracurricular activities and motivation to succeed

Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship

Valued at $2,500

High School senior with a documented learning disability who will be enrolled in the fall of 2017

Must attend a two year community college, a vocational or technical program

Must demonstrate financial need

Must be a US Citizen

Anne Ford Scholarship

Valued at $10,000 ($2,500/year over four years) award

Must be a graduating senior with a documented learning disability

Entering a full time bachelor’s degree program in the fall of 2018

Must have an overall GPA of 3.0

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards

Recognition program based on volunteer community service

Legal resident of US

Has engaged in volunteer activity in past 12 months (100 hours required)

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholars are selected based on exceptional academic ability and achievement, financial need, persistence, service to others and leadership

Up to $40,000 a year to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school

Intend to enroll in an accredited four-year college beginning fall of 2018

Earn a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above

Demonstrate financial need

Elks National Foundation Scholarship

Applicants judged on scholarship, leadership and financial need

High school senior who is a citizen of the United States is eligible and applicants need not be related to a member of the Elks

The Foundation will award 500 four-year scholarships to the highest rated applicants in the competition

ASHRAE Scholarship

Award amount $3,000- $10,000

Scholarships are awarded for the academic year following the application deadline beginning with the fall semester

Scholarships are awarded to undergraduate or pre-engineering students who are enrolled full time in a post secondary education institution and pursing a Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree in a course of study that traditionally has been a preparatory curriculum for the HVAC&R profession. 

Must have a GPA of 3.0

HSC Warranty Scholarship

Award amount $2,000

Student must enroll in semester beginning no later than Winter 2018

Winner is not based on financial need

AXA Achievement Scholarship

Must demonstrate ambition and drive; determination to set goals, respect for family, self and community, and the ability to succeed in college

Must be a US citizen

Awarded to 52 students nationwide, state winner receives a scholarship of $10,000

Cumberland Farms Scholarship

Must be enrolling in a two year or four year university/college or vocational/technical program

Must reside within a 30 mile radius of Cumberland Farms

Must have a 3.0 GPA

Based on academic record, leadership qualities, school and community activities

Home Advisor 2017 Skilled Labor Shortage Scholarship

Award a $5,000 scholarship to three students who can devise a creative solution to America’s skilled labor crisis

Email a well developed 1,000 to 2,000 word essay on: What would be your strategy for solving the labor shortage and what would you do to encourage others to attend a trade school instead of a four year program.

Values range from $2,000 to $25,000 tuition assistance
