Emergency Medical Technician

Are you able to remain calm and cool during emergencies? Do you enjoy being part of a team where communication, critical thinking, and timely decision-making are the keys to success? If so, then you should register for our Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program. As a student in our EMT program, your academic and hands-on learning will occur in our fully equipped classroom, where you will develop and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to build the foundation that will successfully prepare you for transitioning into a career in the Emergency Response field.
 
The Emergency Medical Technician Honors program at the Cheshire Career Center provides students with experience and knowledge of the skills and responsibilities of an EMT. On top of that, upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to take the EMT certification exam through the National Registry of EMTs!
 
You will learn emergency medical services, basic anatomy and physiology, transportation, workforce safety and wellness, medical and legal ethics, documentation. You can earn Work-Based-Learning experience, college credits, and First Aid and CPR certification. Your career pathways (with additional education and training) include Emergency Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, ER Physician, Wilderness Search and Rescue Responder.
