Art One

This is an introductory course where the emphasis is placed on understanding basic elements and principals of art and design. Through individual and group instruction students will be taught to express themselves with a variety of media and to explore and gain a better understanding of the creative process. Some of the experiences include drawing, tempera painting, printmaking, collage and art history appreciation. The intent of this course is to instill in the student an appreciation of the value of his/her own work, the work of other artists, and the importance of art in our world.

Note: This course is highly recommended for freshman year. This course serves as the prerequisite for all other art courses offered at Keene High School.

Open to grades 9, 10, 11.
