Drafting and Design
Do you enjoy designing creative solutions to everyday problems? Do you learn best when working on real-life projects that demand teamwork, communication, and problem-solving abilities? If so, then you should sign up for our drafting and design/ engineering programs. As a design student, your hands-on, real-world learning projects will enable you to develop and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to successfully transition into entry level employment in related industries or pursue post-secondary educational opportunities in the design/ engineering field.
Design/ Engineering students use the computer to design and manufacture real world 3D objects. Learning takes place with hands-on projects using new technology such as 3D printers. Students will learn the engineering design process, experience the relationship between two and three dimensional computer assisted design (CAD), explore Architecture and Mechanical design. Engineering/ Design students learn applied skills such as robotics, spatial learning, blueprints and drawings with industry standards. You can earn Work-Based Learning experience, college credits, and apply these real world skills while participating with First Robotics/ First Tech Challenge.
Your career pathways (with additional education and training) Engineering such as Mechanical, Architectural, Robotics, Electrical, Bioengineer, Manufacturing, and Software. Other career options include CADD Technician, Mechanical Technician, Architectural Technician.
