Trip to Rome April 2020

RomeRome 2
Does your daughter or son have the travel bug?  Want her/him to have international travel experience?  Art teacher Peg Barnes and Jen White of the Social Studies Department are offering a trip to Italy: Rome to Sicily in April 2020!  The trip will be run through EF Tours, and there will be a guide with us 24/7.  Peg and Jen have run trips many times- in fact we just returned from Ireland and Scotland and London & Paris, respectively.  We are starting two years out (Note the 2020 date!) so that people have enough time to save up for it! Questions? email Peg Barnes at mbarnes@sau29.org!

students for a free tibet sponsor sacred arts tour

Eight Tibetan Monks recently visited Keene High School.   Over a period of days, they constructed a sand Mandala For World Peace in the North Lobby.  A mandala is a symbolic picture of the universe.  It can be a painting on a wall or scroll created in colored sands.

Students and staff enjoyed meeting the monks and watching the amazing process!  The KHS club Students for a Free Tibet sponsored the visit through various fundraising events.

KHS Sports teams donate

A big thank you to the Keene High Cheerleaders for bringing in donations for Fast Friends Greyhound Rescue and Adoption Center and The Monadnock Humane Society. You have made a very Merry Christmas to many animals at these two shelters.

KHS Cheerleaders Donate

Keene HS Football captains (L to R) Cam Wilhelm, Sean Corrigan, and Tyler Patch are shown handing off a check for $1,310 to Phoebe Bray of the Keene Community Kitchen. The check represents KHS proceeds from the KHS/Monadnock Turkey Tussle Thanksgiving Day football game that the team choose to donate to a local non-profit.
