As September is Suicide Prevention month KHS is providing this Suicide Prevention Awareness Video for Parents

hello alkene High School parents and Guardians I'm Jen white Student Assistance counselor at King High School by Rosa high school is to offer counseling for student and prevention programming around mental health in misuse related issues for student staff and families as you may know September is suicide prevention Awareness Month suicide as a major preventable mental health problem in the second leading cause of death among dwarf between the ages of 10 and 18 King High School is committed to raising awareness around Suicide Prevention within our school Community here in high school we teach and encourage students to use the acronym Act simple way for them to remember how to respond when someone opens up to them about Suicidal Thoughts act since for egg knowledge caretel depression in them hair show your friend that you're worried about them and tell tell a trusted adult during the week of September 21st Keene high school will be promoting awareness of act as well as other suicide awareness prevention information such as how to cope with things fighting depression how to recognize signs and symptoms of suicide had to help a friend and of course where to find supports and resources at King High School in our greater Monadnock community and online I've attached the same information for you in this email I've also attached a prevention video you can decide if you'd like to share it with your student as always if you're concerned about your student we want you to reach out to their school counselor so we can help also please encourage your students reach out to their school counselor if they're concerned about themselves or friend the best thing we can do for each other is to keep an eye out for our friends our children our peers if you're concerned about anyone please reach out and connect with them express your concern for the health and find them supports now I'd like to take a moment to have members of the school counseling department introduce themselves my name is Jason Zucker school counselor here King Arthur the first my job is to everything for you so come on and say hi thanks hey King High School my name is Dan Moylan I'm a school counselor here and I work with the letters c h through G or F depending I guess on your school year I look forward to working with you and get a chance to meet you my name is Lisa baratta I'm one of the school counselors here at King High School my office is located in the main guidance office and I work with students with the last name g through J hi I missed exit and the new dish to the school counseling team here at King High School I have depending on your your graduation case through M or l through n hi Michelle Gates I'm a school counselor at Keene High School didn't I typically work with have the last name starting with the letter N through S hi my name is mr. Frodo and when one of the school counselors here at King High School on a wanted to say a special welcome to are the incoming freshman class the class of 2024 I work with students whose last names are s through Z and I look forward to to meeting with you welcome to Jolene Sion personal counseling are teen high school I see any student who is struggling with personal issues if you're struggling reach out we're here to help and I miss you and we are the key High School school nurse we are here for you I meant to say quarter after school counseling and now they had an opportunity to meet all the members of the school counseling department I want to take a minute and remind you that all adults staff teachers administer are the members of the school counseling department for here to help to reach out if you have a question or concern or need anything and with that I'll leave you with a few final messages from members of the school counseling department thank you we're here for you You Are Not Alone come visit me come share your story with us we support you all the way we believe in we're in this together you are important Reach Out
